The 4thtraditional gathering of Libera users was held in Solkan from 13–15 October. Participants played a major role also this year and presented their use of Libera products in machine physics studies, in regular operations and in developing fast global orbit feedback. The workshop again proved to be an important opportunity to exchange experience among the members of the Libera community and discuss different solutions for beam stabilization.
An important novelty introduced this year was Libera training, which was based on a hands-on approach and is intended to help participants to learn how to use Libera and exploit its functionalities in detail. Since the participants gave very positive feedback, we would like to ask you whether such training should be organised a few times each year or even directly, at your place. Please send your comments at: mojca.strehar@i-tech.si.
Libera LLRF was launched at the LINAC conference in Canada and aroused much interest with a demonstration of functionalities. Libera LLRF, the digital RF stabilization system, is:
an all-in-one product;
customizable to different LLRF applications;
suitable for the latest generation light
sources and hadron accelerators;
ready to integrate in the control system
The powerful features of the Libera LLRF enable RF system monitoring, configuration and diagnostics. We are eager to do first tests on customers’ machines.
If you would like to save money and time while improving accelerator performance by managing an RF system, ask for a customized Libera LLRF to your machine. Contact Andrej (mailto: andrej@i-tech.si) to know how and when it can be implemented in your accelerator.

We are pleased to announce that ESRF will be the 9th synchrotron that will be fully equipped with Libera. It will thus join ALBA (Spain), the Australian Synchrotron, DIAMOND Light Source (Great Britain), Elettra (Italy), the Taiwan Light Source, Petra III (Germany), SSRF (China) and Synchrotron SOLEIL (France), which use Libera to improve beam stability, and increase brightness and reliability.
ESRF, which operates Europe‘s most powerful synchrotron light source and hosts 6,000 scientific user visits per year for 900 different experiments, has already received 120 units of Libera Brilliance in November. They will install 230 units over the next year. We wish the ESRF team to achieve their goals in the ESRF Upgrade Programme planned for the next seven years and great success in extending its scientific impact worldwide!
We are sincerely happy when our effort in establishing links between cutting-edge science and industry is noticed and appreciated. Lately, we have received two important awards recognising our work: the company received the Golden Gazelle for the best among the fastest growing companies in Slovenia and Rok Ursic was awarded the prestigious Puh Accolade. The latter is assigned for new inventions, development achievements and for the transfer of science into industry.
We are aware that all this is not possible without close and mutual collaboration with all of our customers. We would like to thank all of you on this occasion.
Would you like to receive fresh news from the accelerator community and
useful info and reports on the use of our existing products as well as
announcements of new products and services?
