Program of the 4th Libera Workshop We are pleased to invite you to join us from the 13th – 15th of October in Solkan, Slovenia for the 4th Annual Libera Workshop. Libera users from all over the world have already expressed their interest in participating. In addition to reviewing the latest Libera developments in company and with customers, we have made some additions to the program this year.
For the first time this year, we will conduct an optional Libera training for new and intermediate users. A hands-on one-day presentation of functionality should bring users up to speed in order to fully exploit the possibilities of Libera for their lab. Attendees of the training seminar will get practical experience working on Libera under the guidance of our support team.
The second day is planned for presentations and lectures. We will present you with issues connected to the advanced use of Libera Brilliance and Electron, discuss how to build the fast global orbit feedback, how to close the bunch-by-bunch feedback loop. We will also take time to look at the latest technological advances and developments at Instrumentation Technologies.
The last day focuses on users’ contributions and finishes with an open discussion session. It is an opportunity to listen to the experiences that other users have by exploiting Libera at their machines and chance for us to learn what users would like to see in future developments. We invite all those who are interested in having a contribution to contact us by email.
You can have a look at the tentative program at: http://www.i-tech.si/products.php?meni1=8. We are pleased to hear from you so send your comments and a list of issues that you think should be discussed during the workshop to mojca.strehar@i-tech.si and register at:

Libera LLRF to be unveiled at EPAC We are pleased to unveil our new product Libera LLRF at EPAC. You are welcome to visit our booth (you can find us at the number 44) where a demonstration unit will be presented. The Libera LLRF will be employed as a RF digital stabilization system and will enable control of the magnetic field in the low-level RF control system. The main advantages of our latest product are:
- all-in-one solution
- customizable to specific needs
- suitable for upgrade of older systems or the latest generation light sources and hadron accelerators
- integrates with different control systems.
Our R&D group is now working hard to bring the development to its final stage. The Libera LLRF final version will be ready in autumn when a fully functioning model will be presented at the LINAC conference in Canada.

Libera Bunch-by-Bunch Front End available in Summer In the last issue of the I-Tech Newsletter we announced our new product Libera Bunch-by-Bunch Front End - the signal-processing module of the bunch-by-bunch feedback system. Together with the Libera Bunch-by-Bunch you can now close the bunch-by-bunch feedback loop and successfully damp coupled bunch instabilities.
The Canadian Light Source, Australian Synchrotron and Taiwan Light Source have already decided for the new solution and receive their units in August. Please come by and have a look at our stand during EPAC, or contact us if you like to know more.

Articles about Libera at BIW 2008 BIW 2008 took place in Lake Tahoe, California, at the beginning of May. At the industrial exhibition and at the poster session we were very pleased to meet the experts from machines from around the world and discuss with them the important issues of beam stability.
You may view our posters from BIW at the conference papers web page:
Phase measurements for Ganil and Los Alamos and Modified digital filtering makes possible "true & pure" turn-by-turn measurements.
Till August,
