Editorial
We are launching a redesigned website with an important novelty – a forum. Be the first to visit the www.i-tech.si and look for the information you are interested in. There is a lot of new information aimed at facilitating your work with our products, helping you in your decision-making and enabling an exchange of experience with other members of the Libera community. In this newsletter we are only pointing out a few new items, like Libera Brilliance and filtering for Libera Bunch-by-Bunch, but you can be sure‘s to find much more by browsing the website.

Join the Libera Forum on the new www.i-tech.si website
We are launching a redesigned website. You, the readers of the I-Tech newsletter, have the privilege of being the first visitors. We want it to be tailored to your needs, so if there is anything we have forgotten to address, don‘t hesitate to send us your comments and suggestions. An important novelty is the new forum (you can register at http://www.i-tech.si/forum/). It is your participation in the discussions, exchange of ideas and posting of open questions that will add value and make the forum useful for the broader community. For clarification, contact the forum moderator, Andrej Kosicek, at andrej@i-tech.si.
Where can you meet us in the coming months?
The immediacy of email and phone conversations has big advantages. However, neither of these electronic media can replace genuine handshaking and face-to-face conversation. Thus we are inviting you to stop by our booth during the upcoming particle accelerators events: DIPAC in Venice, PAC in Albuquerque and ICALEPCS in Oak Ridge.
Don‘t miss also the Libera Workshop, which will take place on 24 and 25 September 2007. Find more information at: http://www.i-tech.si/products.php?meni1=8 and register by mailto:mojca.strehar@i-tech.si.
Libera Brilliance to be introduced at DIPAC
As mentioned in the March I-Tech (http://www.i-tech.si/news_letter.php?mesec=03&leto=2007), we are planning to introduce the new Libera Brilliance at DIPAC. The main improvements are: an order of magnitude lower coupling between X and Y position, better beam current dependence, improved handling of high-voltage peaks from pick-ups and significantly enhanced resolution.
Important information for existing Libera users is that the upgrade to Libera Electron Brilliance, and thus being able to take advantage of its benefits, is straightforward. Ask for details at DIPAC!
Libera Bunch-by-Bunch, now with FPGA filtering
Libera Bunch-by-Bunch is now available with filtering for plug-and-play functionality. The following is the list of the embedded functionalities:
- FIR filtering for each bunch, taking into account betatron/synchrotron frequencies
- Phase shift of the analog output implemented with signal processing of output bunch samples
- Time delay of the analog output with the resolution equal to the RF period (2ns for machines with RF 500MHz)
- Special debug option
For additional information on filtering, please check: http://www.i-tech.si/products.php?meni1=5
We look forward to meeting you at DIPAC!
