on-site demonstration?
If you want to quickly evaluate the functionality of Libera instruments,
the best way is to test them on-site. You may either request a tryout unit, or
we can arrange an on-site demonstration with a Libera engineer assisting you
during the evaluation. Special training sessions and workshops for different
laboratories are also being organized.

The Libera community will gather for the sixth time in Solkan, Slovenia on 13, 14 and 15 October. The program will consist of hands-on Libera training, contributions from users, and presentations and live demonstrations of instruments. To make the program interesting for new as well as experienced Libera users, we invite you to send us suggestions and wishes for the workshop.
The Libera family has recently been expanded with new members providing beam stabilization for fourth-generation light sources (FELs). Libera Brilliance Single Pass (an electron beam position processor for single pass machines), Libera LLRF (a digital RF stabilization system) and Libera Sync (a low-jitter clock distribution system) combined together help to achieve beam stabilization.

"The Liberas were extensively used (especially the turn-by-turn capability) and the users were satisfied with the results," said Jairo Moldes, a software engineer at ALBA (CELLS) about the successfully commissioned booster at the beginning of the year.
According to the CELLS web page, the first operational tests have been performed in the booster, with results that show how all components, subsystems and equipment perform accordingly to specifications. ALBA, a third-generation light source facility in Spain, is in its last phase of construction and will provide world-class light quality (brilliance), which will be used for research across a broad range of scientific disciplines.
There are 28 Libera Brilliance units installed on the booster and another 134 units waiting for the commissioning of the storage ring, planned for the coming months.

The Libera Bunch-by-Bunch is used to damp coupled bunch instabilities and, together with the Libera Bunch-by-Bunch Front End, to close transverse and longitudinal feedback loop. Bunch cleaning feature can also be used.
An interesting experiment was recently carried out at the Canadian Light Source (CLS). By exploiting the embedded Numerically Controlled Oscillator (NCO), the team at CLS has partially depolarized the beam and measured the beam energy in the storage ring. They succeeded in measuring the beam energy to the 0.1-MeV level.
