Launching Libera Single Pass H Instrumentation Technologies presented a new member of the Libera family at the International Particle Accelerator Conference in Japan. Libera Single Pass H measures the phase and position and meets the needs of the hadron-beam accelerators. It is an invaluable tool during commissioning, regular operations and machine physics studies. It has the latest technology embedded, including Virtex5 and standard COM with Intel Core 2 Duo processors, allowing users to benefit from a large playground for custom written applications. The fully digital all-in-one solution is easy to integrate in the control system.
Libera Single Pass H is designed to work together with Libera LLRF, Libera Sync and Libera Hadron to optimize the beam stability. Read more at the products webpage.

Beam Lifetime Measurements at ESRF ESRF diagnostics team is able to measure electron beam lifetime using Libera Brilliance. The measurements use the sum signals of 224 units located on the ESRF storage ring. The lifetime measurements from Liberas are averaged, resulting in excellent measurement accuracy. This is important for evaluating properties and stability of a storage ring. The method yields faster measurements as well if compared to classic methods. The study also provided clearer information about the quality of the vacuum and the nature of lifetime accidents.

Beam Stabilization in LINACs Linear accelerators require control of the bunch arrival time, energy and trajectory of particle beams in order to reach demanding performance goals. This requires effective integration of several key instrumentation systems, working together. The digital RF stabilization system (Libera LLRF) performs precise control of amplitude and phase of the accelerating fields. It may be coupled to Libera Sync, a very low-jitter clock distribution system, and Libera Brilliance Single Pass, high-resolution position information, allowing accurate control of trajectories through critical machine sections. This allows very precise control, in real time, of beam diagnostics on LINACs. This solution will be presented at the upcoming events: FEL and LINAC conference, and at the Libera Workshop. Do not miss it!
