The Hadron Phase and Position Processor Tested at CIEMAT

Various measurements were recently performed with Libera Single Pass H at CIEMAT, the Spanish institue that is in charge of several subsystems of the future 9 MeV deuteron accelerator IFMIF-EVEDA, like the Beam Position Monitors. Tests of the unit were conducted on a wire test bench developed by CIEMAT under different conditions to confirm the test bench performance. The instrument proved to be able to consecutively measure 5micron wire displacements. It also achieved excellent results in terms of stability, and phase and position resolution.

The Libera Single Pass H is a new system optimized for processing heavy particle beam signals in hadron linear accelerators‘ applications. The diagnostic tool for phase and position measurements benefits of high degree of accuracy, resolution and temperature stability. It enables measurements at wide dynamic range with increased position resolution and phase resolution lower than 1/100 degree.
