Libera Brilliance Units Installed at Pohang Light Source (PLS)

PLS staff, along with Instrumentation Technologies’ engineers, has worked together to upgrade the first 55 BPM units to Libera Brilliance. Instrumentation Technologies fully supported PLS team on-site and helped with the installation and commissioning of the system, integration into the control system and global fast orbit feedback building.

PLS is undergoing the first phase of the upgrade to PLS-II. The new synchrotron meets the requirements of Korea scientific community increasing the number of insertion devices. It improves also the beam quality with smaller beam size, greater brightness, energy increase and greater beam stability obtained with the top-up injection using full energy LINAC.
